Prompting, Fading & Differential Reinforcement

How do you reward a child for performing a new skill if the child does not know how to do it? Well, we need to teach the child how to do that new skill through the use of prompting, meaning assisting the child to get the correct answer. However, once you help a child to do a new skill, it is important to fade out your assistance, so that the child can perform independently. We will show you how to reward independent performance, too!
