Naturalistic Teaching Strategies (NATS)

First, we review the definition, types, and format “NATS.” Then, we review how to capture and contrive learning opportunities. Next, we go over the Verbal Behavior Approach and discuss how to do mixed VB. Following that, we discuss how you can use NATS to teach during play. The, we review how to create session planning notes, how to take data, as well as the flow of the treatment session for NATS. We also highlight the differences between NATS and DTT. Finally, we explore the advantages and disadvantages of NATS and DTT, as well as how to use both NATS and DTT in an ABA treatment program.
